HK is a bilingual spoken word poet and lyricist, writing in Irish and English. They were selected for Céadlínte Éigse Éireann/Poetry Ireland Introductions 2022. They won the Máire Mac an tSaoi Award for their poetry. They were a recipient of the Irish Language Course Bursary and Young Writer Delegate for the Dublin Book Festival at the Irish Writer Centre in 2022.
They have performed at event such as the International Literature Festival Dublin, Dublin Book Festival, Push Forward Festival. They have been published in Poetry Ireland, Lampa ar Lasadh, Aneas, the Outpost, and in competitions Féile Raiftéirí and Comórtas Filíochta Leabharlainne Átha Cliath Theas.
They received funding from Creative Ireland’s Incubation Award to create a spoken word theatre piece. They were an Axis Assemble 2022 artist and used their residency to develop their multi-disciplinary mediums in tandem with each other. They studied under Harry Clifton in college where they began developing a chapbook under his guidance.
